Mangalore: The members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday January 16, demanding strict action against the accused in the Deralakatte kidnap, forced sex and blackmail case. They also demanded the arrest of RSS leader Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka for his alleged provocative and communal statements.

Addressing  the agitators G V Srirama Reddy,State Secretary of CPI (M) said that the eight accused should be charged with rape and booked under Goonda Act.

Urging the police department to arrest Dr Prabhakar Bhat for his recent provocative speech at Hindu Sangama, Reddy added that the Congress and BJP parties are eying on upcoming LS polls. Congress is scared of losing its voters in case of arrest of a Hindu leader. That is the reason Congress government is not directing the police department to arrest Dr Bhat, he alleged.
