Rashtra Sevika Samithi plans awareness drive against drugs
Mangalore:Shantha Kumari, Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samithi has said that special awareness drives against drugs menace would be organised in schools and colleges of the district in a phased manner in the backdrop of complaints that some female students were getting addicted to drugs in the coastal belt.
Speaking at a press meet at Sanghaniketan in Mangalore on October 16, Wednesday, she said the Samithi has 3000 branches across the state and nearly 5 lakh Sevikas. She also stated that the Samithi had branches in 20 nations including UK and US. It has also set up 20 homes for distressed women including women of Naxal hit areas, terror hit women of Jammu and beggar women, she said.
