Rai pulls up MCC officials for incomplete works

Mangalore :DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai took  MCC officials to task for inaction in completing various works that have been taken up in the city.

He was presiding  over the  MCC progress review meeting  at the Mangala Auditorium  of the Mangalore City Corporation  on February 10, Monday. The minister had lengthy discussions on various developmental issues with the officials as well as corporators, Even the Greater Mangalore project proposal, Pumpwell bus terminus proposal and the Tumbay second vented dam project came up for discussion.

Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo said several works have been left incomplete in the city limits and that the contractors were leaving the works half way through. He even complained that no action followed against the erring contractors.

Moidin Bava, MLA of Mangalore North also expressed his displeasure over the sub-standard works and said  potholes   developed on the roads within three months of completion of the works.

The Minister directed the authorities to finish all incomplete works at the earliest.

Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim, MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar and other officials were present.
