Mangalore: The customs officers at Mangalore International Airport seized 55,000 US dollars from a passenger on Monday February 10.

The accused has been identified as   Abdul Basheer Kadappuram Mohammed who hails from Koodlu in Kasargod. He was about to board an Air India Express flight to Dubai at 8.55 am when the customs officers arrested him.

The officers found 55,000 US dollars in his luggage  which is approximately around Rs 35 lac in Indian currency wherein he had no documentation for the same.

Further investigation is done by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).
