Rai allays fears of areca growers on compensation issue

Bantwal : State Minister for Forest and Ecology and DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has allayed the fears of the areca growers by stating that the government will not stop the process of distribution of compensation to growers affected by Kole disease, for any reason.

He was speaking at a function held at Hotel Rangoli Auditorium at BC Road on Tuesday June 3 on behalf of the Revenue Department to distribute cheques to areca growers, and beneficiaries of various schemes. A total of 1997 areca growers, 554 beneficiaries of National Family Pension Scheme, and sanction letters for 364 beneficiaries under various pension schemes were distributed on the occasion.

ZP Members Mamatha Gatti, MS Mohammad, former member AC Bhandari, TP Chief Lalitha Shivappa Naik, Vice President Anand Shambhur, Members Madhava Maave, Ramesh, Aida Suresh, Sampath Kumar Shetty, TMC President  Vasanthi Chandappa, Land  Development Bank President Sudarshan  Jain,  Panemangalore Block Congress President Abbas Ali, Tahsildar  Malleswamy and others were present.
