Mangalore: The newly constructed Kavoor Police Station building was inaugurated by the district in charge Minister, Ramanath Rai at Kavoor on Tuesday, June 3.
“There has been a rapid increase in crime, as the city is developing fast”, said district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai after inaugurating the Kavoor police station building. He also said the people must support and cooperate with the police as they work towards the betterment of the society.





Addressing the gathering Police commissioner R Hitendra urged the police to work with respect and promptness. He said that there are three more police stations in Dakshina Kannada that are in rented buildings. Just as Kavoor police station has been built in the heart of the policed area, the other three police stations should also be built similarly. He requested the ministers and the MLA to help the department in finding a good location and land area for the three police stations.
Minister for sports and youth services Abhaychandra Jain also spoke on the occasion.
MLA BA Mohiuddin Bava, police commissioner R Hitendra, SP Dr Sharanappa, ward corporator Deepak Poojari, corporator Shashidhar Hegde and others were present during the inaugural ceremony.
