Mangalore : Magnet -2014, a world convention of Mangalorean businessmen and entrepreneurs will be held at the TMA Pai International Convention Centre in Mangalore on April 6 from 9.30 am under the aegis of Rachana.

Informing this to reporters at Bishop’s House on Thursday April 3, office bearers of Rachana including Ivan D’Souza, its President and Walter D’Souza, Chairman of Magnet-2014 Organising Committee, said as many as 12 eminent speakers from across the world will address the convention.
Mangalore Diocese Bishop Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will inaugurate the convention while the key note address will be delivered by Richard Saldanha, former president of Delhi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former chairman and CEO of Unilever (Peru).
A mini exhibition of industrial products will also be organised on April 6. The Convention will conclude with a grand cultural programme and a dinner.
Magnet-2014 aims at providing a platform for a mutually beneficial business interaction between Mangalorean businessmen and Entrepreneurs across the world and to create an awareness of the potential for international business and motivate catholic entrepreneurs to think big. It also aims at creating a corpus for a “Rachana Venture Capital Fund” and the “Rachana Industrial Credit Cooperative Society” to boost entrepreneurship in Mangalore.
Over 500 delegates have already registered for the event and the organisers are expecting more registrations.
The Rachana World Convention Office was inaugurated and the brochure released by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dr M Veerappa Moily earlier on January 19.
