Bantwal : Believe it or not!  Swords or knives walk here, wooden planks run and torch rolls on the ground on its own. Some such queer incidents that are posing a challenge to the modern scientific world are reported from Bantwal.

The centre of attention has been a house at Netrakere in  Kodman village of Bantwal taluk. The strange incidents taking place in this house since the past three days have left the occupants of the house in panic and shock. The all of a sudden stoning, lamps burning without oil, soil from Tulasi Katte landing inside the house, swords walking etc etc  have been attracting large crowds towards this house.

The house belongs to Koosappa Kulal and Mahadevi couple. They say they also find worms in rice bowl, timber logs inside the house, the ear stud or tikki of their son going amiss all of a sudden and found inside a mango, rice from the bag dropping to the ground and  ash getting  scattered all around. Some such incidents are narrated by the couple who are visibly panic stricken.

The couple   had spent almost three days  in panic and great fear and the incidents came to the notice of the outside world when they narrated the same to their neighbours. Mahadevi says on Wednesday morning, all the knives that were walking were found together and  resting by leaning on the wall as in case of the swords  slanted and kept touching the wall during Daivaradhane.  Also pineapple, mangoes,  beedi thread, empty bottles appeared, she adds.

Koosappa who too is in a state of shock says his spectacles broke all of a sudden  when  he was about to read a newspaper which he had brought two days ago.

The couple’s son Likhith who was amid the crowd that gathered said his ear was itching and  when his parents checked, his ear stud was missing, On a search it was found stuck to the mango. Most surprising of all, it is said  perfume bottle,  ash etc were scattered right in the presence of people who gathered.

Family approaches Dharmasthala:

All the strange incidents had first come notice at around 9 am on May 28, Wednesday. As news spread, people arrived and  soon there were wild rumours. By evening there was a large crowd outside the house. As per the advice of an astrologer, the family members have now locked up their house and have left for Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala for a Parihara.

Whatever it is, that such queer incidents are still taking place is indeed a surprise as well as a mystery.
