Mangaluru: In a matter of shame, a drunk police constable was thrashed by the public for allegedly misbehaving with a group of girls at a mall here on Thursday evening.

The constable is identified as Sadasahiva, attached to Urwa police station. He was not in uniform during the time of the incident. According to sources, he has three wives. He was earlier working with the Kadri traffic police, but was transferred after allegations of corruption against him surfaced.

It is learnt that, a minor girl was also included in the group of girls he allegedly misbehaved with. Based on a complaint filed by them, Pandeshwar police have registered a case under IPC Section 354, 509 and under POCSO Act.
