Protest against forcible eviction of poor woman

Moodbidri : Villagers of Moodukonaje staged a protest in front of the Tahsildar’s office on March 19, Wednesday   condemning the  act of the officials in forcefully evicting   a poor woman named Malathi Poojari from her house in the village on Tuesday.

The BJP leaders who participated in the protest charged the Moodbidri Tahsildar Mohammad Isac of acting puppets at the hands of the Congress. They also demanded his transfer until the election process is over and feared that the election may not be held in a free and fair manner  under him.

Already, a complaint has been lodged with Assistant Election Officer Dr Ashok seeking action against the Tahsildar for  demolishing the house of Malathi who  has even been issued a door number and was paying house tax. The Election Officer assured to bring the matter to the notice of the District Election Officer.

P Sucharitha Shetty, President of the local unit of BJP who spoke on the occasion, demanded action against several unauthorised constructions in Moodbidri town. District BJP Vice President Umanath Kotian, in his address accused the Tahsildar of high handed behaviour.

ZP Members Eshwar Kateel and Suneetha Sucharitha Shetty also spoke. Kasturi Panja, District BJP Vice President. Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, Sukesh Shetty, Sudarshan M and others participated in the protest.
