Prime accused in CPI(M) activist murder case surrenders

Kasargod :  Prajith alias Kuttapi(26), said to be the prime accused in the  CPI(M) activist murder case, has surrendered before the Hosadurga Judicial First Class Magistrate’s Court on September 19, Thursday. Prajith hails from  Uduma Aryadka colony.

Police meanwhile have launched a manhunt to  apprehend the other two accused in the case.  Prajith who surrendered before the court has been remanded to two weeks of judicial custody. He  is a lorry cleaner.

The CPI(M) worker MB Balakrishnan was murdered on September 16 night when he was on way home in his scooter. Kasargod also observed a bundh on September 17 in protest against the murder.

The CPI(M) had even accused the hands of the Congress in the murder. Police said the motive of the murder may be exposed once the accused is handed over to police custody.
