Udupi: “Today’s generation is totally ignorant about the achievements of Chatrapathi  Shivaji”, said Zilla Panchayat  President Upendra Nayak after inaugurating the Shivaji Jayanti function organised by the District Administration at Rajeev Nagar Government Composite High School at Yembattu Badagabettu, on Wednesday February19.

Upendra Nayak said that it is important to understand the principles and contribution of Shivaji  to the nation. He was one of the brave and intelligent rulers who  inspired the concept of oneness in his administration, Nayak said.

Prakash Malpe,social activist, said that Shivaji’s life and achievements showed that he was a patriot and always maintained his self-respect and also  respected women. He said Shivaji is always remembered for his bravery. The education system during those times was indeed worthy and inspired the students to develop courage.
