Post-poll violence: Four BJP workers arrested

Kasaragod: Four BJP workers were arrested yesterday by Kerala police in connection with the post-poll violence incidents.

Shivaprasad, Nitin, Abhilash and Umesh Naik from Beeranthabail are the arrested.

It may be recalled that on the day of Kerala assembly election results, a few incidents of violence were reported from Kasaragod. In one such incident, Fareed, an employee of a garment shop, was attacked by a group of people with stones while travelling in a scooter. His scooter was later set on fire in an open ground nearby.

However Fareed, a resident of Adkathabail, managed to escape. He registered a case after the incident.

After preliminary investigations, the police have managed to arrest four BJP workers.
