Mangalore : Muneer Katipalla, State President of the DYFI has alleged that the Congress candidate from DK Janardhana Poojary was playing the Billawa card out of fear of failure.

Addressing a Mangalore city level DYFI workers meeting   on March 26, Tuesday  he  further said “ Poojari by  questioning BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel as to why he has not tagged his name with the surname Shetty and also stating that he was proud to  have the Poojari tag to his name has  tried to  win  the elections by dividing the Billawa and Bunt votes.

“The district is facing several problems and the elections need to be fought  by promising solution to such problems, “he said. “If the communal politics of the BJP has affected harmony in the district, even the Congress is trying to create a rift between Billawas and Bunts.” “Using the caste factor for election is dangerous and the  youth must reject both the  BJP and the Congress,” he said.

The meeting resolved to campaign in favour of the CPI(M) candidate Yadava Shetty. BK Imtiyaz, Santosh Bajal, Sadiq Kannur, Manoj Urvastores and others were present.
