Polytechnic students stage “Rastha Roko” protest

Mangalore: The Polytechnic students of Mangalore and Udupi district, staged a “Rastha Roko”  protests  against changes brought about by the government in the carry-over system , at Hampankatta Circle.

While addressing the crowd Dinakar Shetty State President All College Students Association said that, ” since thirty days we are organizing the protests state wise but no demanding is  fulfilled the ministers keep on assuring , but show no results.

He further stated that regarding this issue already seven students have lost their lives and recently  a student called Santhosh from Udupi committed suicide.

He also said that the Govt. has to give Rs 5 Lack to the family of Santhosh as compensation, to support their family and if any more students lose their life for this reason then the Govt. will be held responsible for the deaths.

A Protest march called “Bangalore Chalo” will be held and they will stage the protest in front of the Higher education Minister and the Chief Minister.

Polytechnic students of Mangalore, Udupi, Bantawal, Sullia, Belthangady and Moodabidri participated in the protest. Around 200 -250 students participated in the protest.

Others present at the protest were, District President of Polytechnic All College Students Association Ramith Kumar,  Vice President Vinay H.J, Udupi District President Jovin , Secretry Sachin, Belthangady President Mohammed Arif , Sullia President Prajwal K.T, Karkala President Nisha .N , Moodabidri Present Jhonson , Secretry Pawan and President of both the district Ashvith .B.
