Mangalore : The District unit of the  BJP has  said that the allegations heard against the party MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had ulterior political motives.

In a press release, District BJP President Pratap Simha Nayak said an attempt to tarnish the image of the MP had begun by  vested interests  well before the elections, after they failed to achieving their selfish political  motives,. The  people of the region have realised the blackmail tactics aimed at  character assassination without any basis, he said adding the MP has already earlier lodged a complaint against attempts to malign him.

Nayak said the vested interests have resorted to pressure tactics by registering a complaint against the MP. He also said the BJP will fight the issue through legal means.
