Bantwal auto drivers asked to mandatorily have display cards

Bantwal : Nandakumar MM, sub-inspector  of Bantwal Town Police Station has directed all autorickshaw drivers of the town  to mandatorily  have display cards having the xerox of voter ID card, name, address and mobile numbers. The same must be displayed behind the driver’s seat.

The  inspector gave the above directive at a meeting of  representatives of autorickshaw owners and drivers of BC Road and Bantwal on Tuesday May 13. The inspector said the rule has to be adhered by June.

The meeting also discussed about suitable parking arrangements for autorickshaws in BC road and Bantwal area. Drivers should mandatorily have with them driving licence and other documents, he informed.

Autorickshaw drivers too placed some suggestions at the meeting.

The SI  told reporters who met him that he would be convening a meeting of tourist car drivers and owners  in another couple of days.

The erstwhile Bantwal SI Sanjay Kumar was all of a sudden transferred to District Intelligence Wing two days ago and Nandakumar appointed in his place.
