Mangaluru: Pilikula Nisargadhama Executive Director S.A. Prabhakara Sharma said on Tuesday that a special cover on Pilikula Nisargadhama will be released at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru on April 13.

The special cover will be released on the occasion of Pilikula Nisargadhama completing 20 years in Mangaluru.
Informing the features of a special cover, Sharma said that it is issued to commemorate any important occasion on payment of requisite charges.
“The design is usually connected to an event and the photo will be restricted to the left half of the cover. It should not impinge upon the address portion of the cover. The stamp affixed on the special cover will be cancelled with a special cancellation cachet. The cancellation seal contains the date and place of the event. A short description of the event will be printed at the back side of the cover,” he said.
Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, M Jagadeesh Pai said, “Personalized postage stamp called ‘My Stamp’ is available at the nearest post office. Buyer has to apply for it along with an ID proof issued by the government. The photograph can be clicked or submitted in soft or hard copy. This facility will be available at Pilikula Nisargadhama tomorrow.”
Addressing mediapersons, Deputy Commissioner, A B Ibrahim said “We celebrated ‘Bisu’ festival at Pilikula Nisargadhama last year. We will be celebrating the festival even this year on the 14th of April.”
Pilikula Nisargadhama is spread over an area of 356 acres and it is exclusively dedicated to conservation of bio-diversity of Western Ghats, heritage and culture, promotion of tourism and creation of awareness in science and technology.
It is devoted to promote eco-tourism and creation of awareness about environment and traditional cultural practices.
