Pedestrian hit by Car, dies on spot

Udupi: A Renault Duster car smashed into a pedestrian after hitting the compound wall of a restaurant, as it lost control, near Yermal on Tuesday June 3.

The deceased, identified as 30-year-old Leelavati, a resident of Yermal.

Reportedly the car driver of the Renault Duster was driving at a high speed, when he lost control of the vehicle and hit the compound wall of a restaurant, hitting the lady and an electric pole in a reflex action.

The hit was so hard that the vehicle rebounded and crashed into the lady, who died on the spot. The car was travelling from Mangalore to Udupi. The driver escaped from the spot soon after the accident.

Padubidiri police have registered a case, after the incident Udupi district minister in-charge Vinay Kumar Sorake arrived at the spot and condoled.
