Mangalore: The participation in the Narendra Modi rally held at Kasargod on April 8, by DK BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel has proved costly for the latter with Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer A.B. Ibrahim stating that 50 per cent of the expenses relating to the rally will be added to the election expenditure of Nalin.

Speaking to press persons on Friday, April 11, the Deputy Commissioner said information regarding the election expenses of Modi’s Kasargod rally are collected from the Kasargod district administration and once the same is received, it will be added to Nalin’s account.
The DC said a notice has been served to Nalin Kumar Kateel in connection with an interaction which BJP leader Ananth Kumar held with students at NITK. Further, the DC said the explanation given by Nalin was not found satisfactory and that his explanation would be sought again.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that women voters outnumber men in Dakshina Kannada and that 58 per cent of election duty personnel are also women.
