Udupi: The Aam Aadmi Party candidate for Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency Gurudev S H appealed the voters to cast their votes on the bases of candidates’ ability to handle issues, but not based on the ‘party’ or ‘their experience’.

Speaking to the media, he said that Udupi district is known for its highest literacy rate, however we cannot forget the fact that we have the highest unemployment rate as well. He stressed that employment generation is one of the important need of public in the district.

He added that this constituency is suitable for the sustainable tourism development, we should think to generate ample of employment opportunities in this field. If the tourism develops, consistently it will give job opening to other workers too.

He assured, if he will be chosen by the voters, he will concentrate on all the necessary facilities like tourism development, encourage job generating industries,  education facilities, 24×7 power facility and modern garbage recycling plants to keep the city clean, self employment opportunity for womanhood and loan facilities to fishermen.

Measures will be taken to resolve water issues by protecting lakes and rivers as well as implementing compulsory rain water harvesting system in all the buildings.

Corruption adversely affecting the countries growth. Many project in the district has been set up against the interest of the people such as Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) thermal power plant. Public should stand united against such project.
