Kudlu(DC) :A new internal security wing called Centre for Counter-Terrorism (CCT), was inaugurated in Kudlu on Tuesday June 4.

Minister K.J. George, inaugurating the centre said that it would be helpful to combat terrorism and to tackle any emergencies across the state. It is being launched to protect civilians from any kind of attacks.
Sources said that the centre will train personnel for the District Special Weapons and Tactical Team (D-SWAT). Each D-SWAT team will have 24 members, who will be trained with the skills of the elite National Security Guards.
The training of trainers (ToT) programmes will be imparted by Garuda Force to all the probationer sub-inspectors from the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF), civil deputy SPs and other staff from various forces in the state, sources said.
The teams will be monitored by the Superintendent of Police, and they will be armed with advanced weapons. They will undergo rigorous commando training at the CCT for over three months.
The first batch of 42 men, who have been picked from various districts and other forces, will be trained under the ToT programme. Later, they will take charge of SWAT teams in their respective districts, sources said.
