Karkala: Vasanthi Joshi, who had bagged the National-level best teacher award in 2015 died on Tuesday after brief period of illness.

She was serving as the headteacher of Mala Gurukula Aided Higher Primary School.

She is survived by her husband Sriranga Joshi, who is also a district level best teacher award winner, son Anshuman Joshi and daughter Malvika Joshi.
