Mangalore: The BJP candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency Nalin Kumar Kateel filed his nomination at 11.15 am on Thursday, March 20. The last date to file the nominations is March 26.






He filed the papers before Deputy Commissioner, A B Ibrahim who is also the returning officer. Pratap Simha Naik and few other party leaders accompanied Nalin while filing the nomination.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded the incumbent Nalin Kumar Kateel for a second term from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency. Kateel had made it to the Lok Sabha in 2009 by defeating B Janardhana Poojary of the Congress by a margin of 40,420 votes in the constituency having eight assembly segments.
As informed earlier no procession was held by the party in view of the Election Commission regulations. However Nalin Kumar Kateel addressed the media positively after registering his nomination.
He said, “I have faith in the people of Dakshina Kannada, the members of the party and with the dream that Modi will represent India as a PM in the future, I have filed the nomination.”
” I have three goals for now, that India must have the opportunity to see progress under the NDA government, Karnataka must grow under the guidance of BJP and as the media reports says that in the last 5 years I have fulfilled my obligation as a grassroots worker towards the constituency, thus I continue to do so” he added.
Earlier the party’s Election Campaign Office was inaugurated near Bunts Hostel at 10.30 am. The office is full-fledged and is equipped with all amenities to facilitate the election campaigning of the party for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
