Mangalore: The publicity vehicle used by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Mangalore North constituency has been seized by the  Suratkal Police as per the direction of the Election Officer.

The jeep was fitted with loud speakers which were publicising the party and its candidate in Suratkal town and  other areas.

When the election officer   looked into the details, it came to light that requisite permission was not   taken by the Party.  The officer said  that as per rules, clearance from the Regional Transport Office was mandatory for  any alteration  to be made to an existing vehicle  and that the AAP had failed to adhere to the rule.

It has been gathered that the AAP candidate for  DK Lok Sabha  Constituency MR Vasudeva visited the Surathkal police station and has  tendered an apology for the violation of the rule.
