Mysore : Noted journalist and columnist Pratap Simha has filed his nomination as BJP candidate from Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency on March 20, Thursday. Simha arrived at the DC office along with his family members and BJP leaders to file the nomination papers for the constituency which has attracted nationwide attention.


Speaking to reporters later, he said he would engage in a rigorous campaigning in all eight assembly constituency areas coming under the Mysore-Chikmagalur Parliamentary constituency. Claiming that there was a pro-Narendra Modi wave in the nation, he said the candidates and party workers have the challenge of converting the same into votes. He also said party workers have the responsibility of enlightening the voters on the need to have Narendra Modi as the prime minister.
To a question if he would meet former minister SA Ramdas who was earlier made the in-charge of party publicity in the district, Pratap Simha evaded a clear cut reply by stating he would meet all BJP leaders and elders.
Asset details: In his affidavit filed along with the nomination, Pratap Simha mentioned that he had a G category site in the city in the name of his wife Arpitha and had a loan of Rs 29 lakhs. The affidavit said he had purchased a site worth Rs 41 lakhs in Bangalore recently and has no other immovable assets. His wife Arpitha, daughter , MLC Go. Madusudan, Tontadarya,KG Bopaiah and other leaders were present.
