Moodbidri : The Nagarika Hithrarakshana Vedike  of Mijar  protested against the implementation of the Netravathi Diversion Project by placing  Tulasi water (Tulasi Jala)  near Mijar junction on March 3, Monday.

Sudhaker Poonja, Secretary of the Vedike who spoke to reporters said  the  corrupt who are hell bent upon rendering the Netravathi river  barren by diverting it,  may not get water  during their last moments. It is for this reason that two litres of Netravathi water is brought  and converted into Tulasi Jala after pouring it into a pot and decorating  it with a Tulasi Mala, he said adding the water will be preserved to offer to the corrupt leaders during their last moments, he added.

Kishore Shetty, another member of the Vedike said a state wide protest must be organised against this destructive project.

Sudarshan Poonja, Convenor of the Vedike and others were present.
