Music bands rock at NITK cultural festival ‘Incident’

Mangalore: The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in Surathkal, organised its  annual cultural festival ‘Incident’ recently.The five-day fest brought together students from various colleges all over India and was held throughout the NITK Campus wherein students participated in various competitions.

The Band ‘Pure Vegetarian’ from Mangalore won the Second Place in Eastern Battle of Bands ‘Bandish’ held on March 5  at the National Level.  The Band members are Sweethin Hartman – Vocals, Saxophone and Rhythm Guitar, Mervyn Soans the Lead Guitar, Patsonn Pereira the Bass Guitar, Suhan Soans on Violin, Jackson Norhonha on Keyboard, Rohit Mallya B played the Tabla and Djembe whereas Jill Gavin D’souza was on Drums.It was a great show put up by the ‘Pure Vegetarian’ Band which mesmerised the crowd.

The Band ‘Pure Vegetarian’ also won the Second place in Western Unplugged Competition. The Band Members are  Mervyn Soans – Lead Guitar, Jill Gavin D’souza – Drums, Allan Fernandes – Bass Guitar, Jackson Norhonha – Keyboard, Sweethin Hartman – Vocals Saxophone and  Rhythm Guitar.

The Band ‘Thermal Shock Wave’ from Mangalore won the First Place in Western Rock Music Competition ‘Pulse.’ The Band Members are Allan Fernandes – Bass Guitar, Jackson Norhonha – Keyboard, Mervyn Soans – Lead Guitar, Jill Gavin D’souza – Drums, Joswin D’Cunha – Lead Guitar and Karthik Chennoji Rao – Vocals.
