Mangalore : Police who are investigating into the case of murder of Anjana, Assistant Manager  in Katipalla Branch of Syndicate Bank, are on the look out for one Mahesh said to be the friend of the deceased. Anjana was found dead in the rented house of Mahesh at Bejai Kapikad late night on April 17, Wednesday.

It was the house owner Dolphy D’Souza who first rushed to the place on hearing the screams of Anjana only to find her struggling on the floor with a rope around her neck. He informed the police and shifted her to a hospital where she died.

It is suspected that Mahesh who worked in a food joint at Big Bazar  might have developed a discord with Anjana eventually killing her. That he has gone missing ever since the incident was reported, substantiated doubts that he was behind the killing.

Anjana’s mother had earlier lodged a case of missing when her daughter had not returned home. The two stayed in bank quarters at Gandhinagar.

Sources said the accused Mahesh used to stay in the house along with his friend Ravi to whom Dolphy D’Souza had rented out the house. Mahesh, it is said was also known by different names and is said to be hailing from north India.

Investigations are underway.
