Blast shatters dreams of young MBBS aspirant

Bangalore : Bomb blast victim Rakshita Sujay (17) is in a critical condition in the ICU at M S Ramaiah Hospital. She has to write the Common Entrance Test on May 1, barely 12 days away, to fulfil her dream of becoming a doctor. But this is one wish that seems to have gone up in smoke after Wednesday’s explosion in Malleswaram.

Rakshita’s father Jayanna, a condiments distributor, told “Rakshita has been dreaming of becoming a doctor since she was a child. But I earn Rs 10,000 a month, how can I afford to pay her fees? I told her that I could only send her to an engineering college.”

Even that is uncertain now for the girl, whose only fault was that she was going for a coffee break with her friend during her CET coaching.
