Mangalore: The muhurat for the new Tulu movie ‘Oriyan Thoonda Oriyag Aapuji’, produced by Gangadhar Shetty and Ashok Kumar under the banner of Sri Mangala Ganesh Combines, was held at Mangaladevi Temple premises on Wednesday, December 11.

The state Forest Minister and DK district in-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai initiated the first-take on the muhurat. Later, Rai inaugurated the function along with other dignitaries by lighting the auspicious lamp.

In his address, Rai emphasised the need to support and encourage Tulu movies which  highlight the culture and traditionof the land.

Dr Shivasharan Shetty, Director of Namma TV who also spoke said Tulu movies have good market and sought government patronage to the Tulu film industry.

Ramanath Hegde, administrator, Mangaladevi temple, Anand K, marketing head of Udayavani, Rtn Suryaprakash Bhat, Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, President, Buntara Yaane Naadavara Mathr Sangha, Premanath Shetty, Corporator, Girija, Ha Su Rajashekar, Kishore D Shetty, Suresh Mangaluru, Arjun Kapikad, Prajwal Poovaiah, Nagesh Achar, Gangadhara Shetty,Ashok Kumar, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde and others were present during the muhurat.
