Mangaluru: Mohammed Nazeer who was serving as the Commissioner of Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) was appointed as the new Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) on Wednesday, July 13.

Nazeer took over the charge from Dr H N Gopalkrishna who was serving as the commissioner in Mangaluru from September 4, 2015. Gopalkrishna has been now transferred to the urban development secretariat in Bengaluru.

Nazeer, who holds a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, cleared KPSC exams after which he was appointed as the director of statistics and planning department. He also served at Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat as a planning officer.
