Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada MP  Nalin Kumar Kateel handed over a prosthetic hand worth Rs 2.24 lakhs to  Shivaram, a physically challenged man  at a function held at the DC office meeting hall.

Speaking on the occasion, the MP said the prosthetic hand will go a long way in helping Shivaram lead a normal life. He said a sum of Rs 1.12 lakh has already been provided to the Endolmite India Ltd which has manufactured the prosthetic hand and added the balance Rs 1.12 lakh will be cleared soon.

The three  fingers in this prosthetic hand are specially designed to help the disabled carry on their daily works without any hassle. The MP said arrangements would be made to offer similar  artificial limbs to the  disabled people in the future.
