Moodbidri : The four-day Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat  which is set to unravel  a whole new world before the literary and cultural enthusiasts at Vidyagiri  here  has aroused a lot of curiosity  not only among  Kannadigas  of the state but also Kannadigas spread across the globe . What will be the novelty  which Dr Mohan Alva will gift during this event, many are wondering and there are high expectations all over.

Just as  renovation works take place  for development of  religious shrines over a period of time,   Brahmakalakshotsava called Vishwa Nudisiri is being organised to  rejuvenate art, language and literature, says Dr Mohan Alva, the man behind the Nudisiri Virasat. His dream  to convey  a hundred messages to Kannadigas to rebuild and rededicate themselves  for the cause of their land and literature and to achieve this endeavour through Nudisiri Virasat  is indeed commendable.

Already, Team Alva’s has opened as many as 80 units of  Nudisiri Virasat  in various parts of the district, state and nation. The strength of the Alva’s cultural troupe has risen from 100 to over 250 and the spectacular shows presented by this troupe have left lakhs of people mesmerized.The organisers are expecting a footfall of over one lakh  during the four day extravaganza.

After one  round of publicity, the invitations are on way  to the invitees and the media publicity wing  too is busy. The State flag is flying high  on either sides of the  streets of Moodbidri.

Cultural grandeur

The Vishwa Nudisiri to be chaired by eminent writer Dr BA Viveka Rai and to be held  on the theme ‘Kannada Manassu-Andu Indu Mundu’ will  commence with a grand folk and cultural procession between 3 pm and 5.30 pm  on December 19. Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala will inaugurate the event which will be graced by elected representatives of undivided Dakshina Kannada district and State Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pundalika Halambi. The Presidents of previous Nudisiris as well as the Chairman of Vishwa Nudisiri will be felicitated on the occasion.

Alva’s Virasat will kickstart at  6 pm on December 20. State Women and Child Welfare Minister Umashree will inaugurate the event. N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, N Prakash, Deputy Commissioner, entrepreneur Sarvottam Shetty Abu Dhabi and Rajkumar, President of Bahrain Kannada Sangha  will be the chief guests. Padmashree and Padmabhushana Dr Teejan Bhai,  the famous Pandwani musician of Chattisgarh will be presented this year’s Alva’s Vishwa Virassat 2013 Award.

Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri will be held in a total of nine platforms including Ratnakaravarni Vedike, the main platform,  Alva’s Vishwa Virasat Vedike, Panje Mangeshraya Vedike, Nadoja HL Nagegowda Vedike, Padmavibhushana Varghese Kurien  Vedike, KV Subbanna Bayalu Ranga Mandir, Ku. Shi. Haridasa Bhatta Vedike, Santha Bhadragiri Achyutadas Vedike and Dr VS Acharya Vedike which are all set to  present a marvellous  a literary and cultural feast to Kannadigas.
