Udupi : One of the most corrupt party in the country is BJP. Including Yeddyurappa most of its candidate are facing corruption charges, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday, April 13. He was speaking on the occasion of his first visit to Udupi district after becoming the CM. A huge Bike rally was organized in the city by Youth Congress on the occasion.

Speaking at the election rally, the CM said that the voters are well aware of the development works initiated by the UPA government at the Centre. In the state, the public was tired of BJP rule and gave a chance to the Congress to rule, he said.
He added the BJP was shameless to bring back B Yeddyurappa who is the first CM to go to jail.
He observed that it was an offence on the part of BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi to conceal his marital status for such a long time. He further added former prime minister Vajpayee didn’t want Modi to be a PM candidate. But, the latter got the full support of RSS, he added.
Gujarat has high infant mortality rate and malnutrition rate of women. A developed Gujarat is just a mirage, he said.
The CM added that the Congress aims at hunger free state and has distributed nearly 1.04 crore BPL cards for poor. In Udupi around 1.30 lakh cards are distributed.
“ Cong will win over 20 seats”: While speaking to the media persons at Udupi he said Congress will sweep away more than 20 seats in state in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
The CM said it is his responsibility to ensure party’s victory in the state. “However, there is no pressure as such by the high command over the wining target,” he clarified. He refuted the allegations that he has directed the district in charge ministers to work towards reaching out the victory target for the party’s candidate. He said that the poll surveys make no sense as the recent political state of affairs in the state clearly indicates the victory of Congress, he added.
Retorting to a query, the CM said there is no question of Narendra Modi becoming PM or Deve Gowda retiring from his political career. Answering another question, he said as per the statistics Gujarat is not number one state as far as development is concerned. “Let Modi first uplift his state and them come here to work,” the CM said.
Regarding the latest poll predictions which states that BJP and Congress would win equal number of seats(13 each) and JD(S) will gain 2 seats, Siddaramaiah said as there is a good fight here the result is not predictable. However, Yeddyurappa’s prediction that Shobha will win from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency with one lakh vote is baseless, he added.
Replying to another query, he said no where its proved that Union Minister Veerappa Moily is corrupt, The CM however declined to elaborate over his comments.
Referring to Shimoga constituency, he said the result cannot be predicted as there is a triangular fight. He said the cine actors campaigning for the candidates would not have any impact, as voters are wise enough to decide their candidate.
