Mangalore: South India Hotels and Restaurants Association (SIHRA) has appealed the government of Karnataka and various state governments to fulfill the diverse demands and foster the hospitality sector to South Indian states.
Addressing the press meet held in the Hotel Goldfinch, honorary secretary of the association T Natarajan said that we appeal state governments of various states including the government of Karnataka to foster the development hospitality sector in the region.
In various states VAT on Food and Liquor has been hiked irrationally by the state governments. Along with this there have been a considerable increase in the bar license tariffs in various states. We appeal state governments to decrease the same and foster the growth of hospitality sector in the region.
MLA of Mangalore North Constituency Mohiuddin Bava invited the SIHRA executive committee and its members to invest their resources in the coastal region of Karnataka. He said “The city of Mangalore is going to be a tourist hub in Karnataka. And, a new government is tourism friendly that will take measures to provide the basic infrastructure for the establishment various hotels in the district.”
The president of SIHRA K Syama Raj, Vice-President GV Krishnaiah and other office bearers of association were present at the occasion.
