Mangaluru: As a part of their silver jubilee celebration, Yenepoya Institute organized yet another cancer awareness and screening camp. On 23 January, the students, staff and cancer experts from Yenepoya Dental College and Yen Onco Center conducted screening at Mitrapattana in Mukka.

The programme was organized as a part of Yenepoya’s Cancerthon 2017 in association with Mitrapattana Mogaveera Sangha, Mitrapattana Mahila Sangha and Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work.

Dr. Guruprasad Bhat, the Medical Oncologist at Yen Onco Center and Ravindra Karkera, the President of Mitrapattana Mogaveera Sangha inaugurated the screening camp. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Guruprasad delivered a lecture on General Cancer, Dr. Imran Pasha spoke on Oral Cancer, Dr. Ashwini Shetty on Cervical Cancer and Dr. Rachana Prabhu on Breast Cancer.

Cancer Screening for oral cancer was conducted by Yeneopya Dental College team while screening for cervical and breast cancer was done by Yen Onco Center.
