Mangaluru: A management student from Kerala, studying in St Aloysius College of Management and Information Technology was found dead on Friday, after he went missing since September 1.
Sonu Subhash Chandran (22) from Thiruvananthapuram is the deceased.
His dead body was found in decomposed state at Madoor Kondana area. Sonu had left his hostel at Beeri on his Yamaha bike on September 1, but he neither reached home in Kerala nor returned to his hostel.
As per sources, Sonu had partied on September 1 and had later told his room-mates that he wanted to spend some time in solitude. Following this he had left the room and been to a place in Madyar. Since he had left his mobile at home, his room-mates had struggled very hard to find him. Finally when they spotted him, Sonu had ripped off on his bike towards Beeri. His friends could not match up with his speed and thus returned home.
It is now suspected that Sonu must have gone over speeding, due to which he must have lost control over the vehicle, ultimately rendering him death in a mishap. Since the mishap had occurred in the night and since a lot of wild bushes were found covering the area, the bike and the body went unnoticed by locals for nine days. The foul-smell from the dustbin nearby covered up for the rotten smell emanating from the dead body, said the locals.
A police complaint was registered at Ullal police station regarding the matter.
