Kasargod : Several passengers have been injured in cases of stone pelting on buses and other vehicles by miscreants in Kasargod town and its outskirts since the past two to three days. Over eight buses have been stoned so far, say sources.

Earlier on Friday evening, a private bus heading towards Kasargod was stoned at Anangur. In this case however, the driver was lucky enough to escape unhurt. However, the front panes of the bus were shattered. KV Srikantan, the bus driver has lodged a complaint in this regard. The stoning incidents have necessitated police escort for buses.
Here it is worth mentioning that a few weeks ago there had been instances of stoning buses on the National Highway. Such incidents stopped after police swung into action and arrested a few suspects. The buses on Mangalore-Kasargod route even operated with police escort from Talapady to Kasargod for a few days following the stoning incidents.
Now the recurrence of the incidents has proved a big head ache to bus drivers, passengers as well as the police.
