Minister Kota asks health officials to take special care of COVID-19 patients

Mangaluru: A special review meeting on the COVID-19 cases in the Dakshina Kannada district was held at the DC’s office on Friday, April 17.

Chairing the meeting, district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary asked Wenlock Hospital Superintendent Dr Sadashiv and District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Ramachandra Bayari about the status of the COVID-19 patients.

Meanwhile, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel also asked the officials of the health department to take special care while treating the patients at the Wenlock Hospital and of those who are quarantined in the district.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr Selvamani R informed the Minister that arrangements have been made in the district to make the ‘Arogya Mithra’ help desk into a people-friendly desk.

Meanwhile, MLAs D Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Y Bharath Shetty, Umanath Kotian, Rajesh Naik and U T Khader shed light upon the loopholes in distributing ration to both the BPL and APL families. Officials at the meeting promised that the issues would be rectified.

Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar and others were present.
