Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Kavitha Sanil told media that due to some technical problems the water pump in Tumbe was defunct and hence some parts of the city did not receive water on June 10. But immediate arrangements were made to repair the pump, she added.

Again due to low voltage problem on June 12 from the Mescom water couldn’t be pumped, she added. By June 13 evening water was provided to the most of the places in the city, she clarified.

“By June 15 evening, water will also reach the hilly areas in the city. It was not purposefully done. People should pardon us for the inconvenience”, she explianed.

She also said that MCC had removed 90 percent of the wooden planks and 232 were left. The water level is about 2.45 meters in Tumbe vented dam, she added.
