Manipal: In the Manipal gang rape case, the reports have stated that, Yogish Poojary (30), Hariprasad Poojary (27) and Anand Panar (28) who are the prime accused in the case were produced before the Court on Monday November 18.

As per the orders of the District Sessions Court Magistrate B M Angadi, the five indicted in the rape case are issued to resume along with all the witnesses to appear for trials from January 6.
The judge B M Angadi has also announced that the victim will be produced in the court.
The court of law has finalized the dates and all the accused along with 108 witnesses will have to appear before the court in the month of January.
The other two accused Harindra and Balachandra arrested for tampering the evidence were also produced before the court and will continue to be in the judicial custody till January 6.
Also, the judge asked the prosecution and the defense to produce their witnesses on January 7, 8, 20 21, 22 27, 28 and 29. Moreover addressing the reporters, public prosecutor T S Jituri said that by January end, half of the total witnesses will give their statements.”
Defence counsel Purushottam Poojary said, “Till now the victim has not given any formal statement in the court, so until she makes an extact statement the case is still dicey.”
Manipal University student from Kerala was gang raped on June 20 this year. The police filed a charge sheet against the accused on August 22. It has called in for a state wide outrage on women’s protection.
