Defaming case on Sowjanyas parents

Belthangady: The Sowjanya rape and murder case has yet taken another turn, as a defamation suits have been filed in a court by the accused by Dheeraj Kella, Uday Jain and Mallik Jain in the case on Monday November 18.


All three have filed separate cases against nine people which include the parents of Sowjanya, her uncle, Prajaprabhutva Vedike president and others who have been fighting for justice in the Sowjanya rape and murder case.

The reports state that the petition that was filed in the court declared about the allegations made by the family on them, publishing their photo along with Sowjanya lying dead in a semi nude state, proliferating and defaming their name in the media and other social networking sites and propagating to be the culprits without evidence.
They also claimed that these allegations have created a disbelief in regards to their characterization in the society.

The petitioners pleaded for action against Sowjanya’s parents Chandappa Gowda, Kusumavathi, uncle Vittal Gowda, Prajaprabhutva Vedike president Mahesh Shetty Timarody, a private TV channel, its anchor, owner as well as program co-coordinators.
