Mangaluru: The city’s Sikh community celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Sahib-e-Kamal Shri Guru Gobind Singh with prayers and planting saplings. Members of the entire community of ‘Shri Singh Sabha Mangalore’ took part with enthusiasm.
Members started with Prabhat Pheir (morning prayer) and sang Diwan Kirthan (spiritual song) in honour of Shri Guru Gobind Singh with utmost devotion. All the members who observed Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary were given Guru Ka Langar (lunch in honour of Guru).
As a special initiative to mark the 350th anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the members involved themselves in ‘vriksharopan’ where they planted saplings of trees.
