Video clipping of Konaje police demanding Rs 100 as bribe from lorry driver goes viral!

Ullal: In a shameful incident, two policemen were videographed accepting and then demanding additional Rs 100 as bribe from a sand lorry driver at Thokottu Chembugudde.

The video shot on a mobile phone shows how the policemen resort to taking bribe from the driver, despite the latter showing the permit.

The sand-laden lorry was plying from Kallapu to Konaje. Two policemen attached to Konaje police station, identified as Shashi and Nathesh were on duty. It is said that the station ambulance doubled as PCR since the PCR was sent for repair.

The cops stop the lorry near a canteen at Chombugudde and ask for documents. When the driver shows the permit, the cops reject it saying that a permit would not suffice and soon resort to roll call. The driver pulls out Rs 100 from his pocket and smugly places it in one of the cop’s hands. The shameless cops are seen demanding for Rs 100 more from the driver. The driver budges to the demand and is seen paying additional Rs 100 to get rid of the two
