Mangalore: A man accused in a murder case was butchered in broad daylight at Suratkal on Tuesday February 4. It is suspected that the murder was an act of a gang enmity.


The deceased has been identified as Prakash who was an accused in the murder of Shivaraj. Who was killed at Jokatte in July 2012.
Reportedly, Prakash was arrested a week after Shivaraj’s murder. After acquiring a bail in the case Prakash would come to Panambur police station on intervals to sign the register.
On Tuesday, he had come from Udupi to Panambur police station with his father to sign the register when the incident took place.
Accordingly when Prakash and his father were travelling back to Udupi by bus, a group of unidentified men came in a Maruti Omni and waylaid the bus in front of NIT-K Suratkal.
The group took Prakash out of the bus and killed him on the road with a lethal weapons. They ran away before anyone would react to the incident. The body has been shifted to Wenlock hospital.
