M’luru girl Poorvi Rao makes it to Top 5 of Dancing Star Junior

Mangaluru: The multifaceted 10-year-old girl Poorvi K Rao of Class V of Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, has not only brought name and fame to her parents and family members, but also the city of Mangaluru, as she has been selected as one of the five finalists in the Colors Kannada “Dancing Star Junior” show to be held on September 12.

Poorvi is the only girl among four boys in the Top 5 finalists. With “Dancing Star 2” giving the much deserved success to Colors Kannada – the “Dancing Star Junior” followed close on its heels airing from July 11, with the finals being held on September 12, 2015. This programme will be telecasted on Colors Kannada Channel every Saturday and Sunday from 9 pm to 10.30 pm.

At a felicitating ceremony held at the school premises, for her achievement in making it to the finals in the “Dancing Star Junior” show, the Principal of the School Sr. Melissa A.C. said, “Poorvi is a joy and pride of our school. She has brought many laurels to school in various fields of her talents. Her entering the finals in the “Dancing Star Junior” show is indeed a pride for our school, her classmates, teachers, her parents and her dear and near ones. Poorvi Rao, aged 10, is the daughter of Kumaraswamy Rao, a Senior Manager at Karnataka Bank H.O., Mangaluru, and Asha Kumaraswamy, a staff at St Agnes Teachers Training Institute, Mangaluru.
