Lorry turns turtle near Konaje; cleaner dies

Mudipu:A lorry laden with interlock tiles overturned   near Ganesh Mahal close by the Mangalore University at Konaje on September 29, Sunday afternoon  resulting in the death of its cleaner on the spot. Six others who were in the lorry sustained serious injuries and were hospitalised.

The deceased is Ram Breksahani (37) of Bihar origin. The injured are Abdul Majeed, Devananda, Ramnala Sahani, Kanaja Sahani, Ganor Sahani and Umesh Sahani.

 The lorry bearing registration No. KL 13 C 1647 which had loaded interlocks at Malar near Grama Chavadi was heading towards Tokkottu when the mishap took place. All the seven in the lorry were caught under the lorry. Though hundreds of people gathered they had a tough time in pulling out the injured from under the lorry. Finally the lorry was  taken aside and the injured shifted to the KS Hegde Hospital at Derlakatte.

Konaje police have registered a case.
