Kasargod:Private Bus Operators Association of Kasargod have threatened to suspend bus services if the authorities do not take immediate steps to repair the bad roads.
Speaking to reporters here, the representatives of the Bus Operators’ Association pointed out that most of the roads of the district including the Tekkil-Aletti, Kumble-Badiadka, Badiadka-Mulleria, Seetangaoli-Perla, Madhur-Mannippady, Kumble-Kalattur-Kattatadka, Pilankatta-Agalpady, Ethadka-Kinningaru, Vidyanagar-Seetangaoli, Mulleria-Natekal-Bellur are in dire straits. The same is the condition of roads in Hosadurga taluk, they said adding the bus operators were finding it difficult to run buses on such roads.
Referring to the rule making it mandatory for buses to have speed governors, they said there was no facility to repair speed governors and also spare parts were unavailable in the district. It was also an additional burden on bus operators, they said and at the same time sought more time to install speed governors.
