Newskarnataka – Mangalore

Mangalore: Due to brake failure a transport lorry fell into the river at the northern side of the Old port. The accident occurred when the driver was trying to turn the vehicle towards the road  on Tuesday March 4.

The incident was reported at around 1.00 pm, when a vehicle transporting edible products and other grocery goods to Bantwal fell into the river. The estimated loss is around Rs 4 to 5 lakhs.

Fortunately there were no casualties. Locals jumped into the river and tried  to recover few goods  from the vehicle.
